Early Start Speech Pathology are proud to be servicing the wider community of Lake Macquarie through Lake Macquarie Council. For dates of talks and screeners have a look at Lake Mac’s website, www.library.lakemac.com.au
This years talk will be held on the 22.3.2017 at 10am at Speers Point Library.
Michelle Batey, Director and Co-Owner of Early Start Speech Pathology, will be talking to parents and care givers about “Language Development in the Early Years”. The talk is full of practical tips and tricks to help get your child talking and interacting. Click here to find out more information.
Previous talks and workshops that Early Start Speech Pathology have presented for the “You’re Kidding Me” Program include
- Speech and Language, What are the Red Flags
- Autism and Visuals- Why should I use them and How do I use them?
- Babbling Babies- Getting your baby on the right track to communication
The screeners through the You’re Kidding Me Program are a free 15 minute screener. Early Start’s Speech Pathologist will meet with you to discuss your concerns and have a listen and a play with your child to gain a better understanding of their communication abilities. Our Speech Pathologist will be able to give you guidance as to whether you should seek out therapy or assessment or will give you some strategies to take home to start implementing straight away. It’s a great opportunity to ask those burning questions without the expense of booking a full appointment.
The screeners this year are on the 26.4.17, 10-11.30 am, at Speers Point Library. Click here to find out more information and to book your child’s time. Previous years have always sold out, so make sure you get in early and book your spot. We look forward to seeing you there!
