Step By Step Guide for Telehealth Sessions

Our practice is using a video platform called Coviu. It is browser based, so you don’t need to install a special application, just a Google Chrome or Firefox browser. You will just need a computer or tablet with a working camera and microphone.

Step 1

The link that we will meet will be emailed to you and will look something like this.

Just click the link or copy & paste this link into the browser and Coviu will open.

Step 3

You will be taken to a page that says Early Start Speech Pathology/ Therapists Name- Join this room as a guest. You are directed to take a photo and provide some personal information. This is just to inform the practitioner about who is in the waiting room – none of this information is stored by Coviu or reused anywhere else. If you would prefer not to take a picture of yourself, just lean out of the camera angle and snap. Enter your name and click continue.

Step 4

You’re in and ready to start therapy!

Free Trial: We are offering you a free trial so you can trial the system with peace of mind. This is a great opportunity to briefly talk with your therapist about any concerns you have with your child and if there are any questions regarding the use of Coviu and how we can make it work for your child.

Privacy: Please note that Coviu is a safe and secure environment. None of the data that is exchanged in a Coviu call is saved anywhere. All of the call, including audio, video and data, is encrypted between you and the practitioner so nobody can listen into the call. The practitioner will take notes after the session and save on a secure server. This meets our strict privacy requirements and meets NDIS standards.

Invoicing: You will be invoiced after the session is complete and you can either pay with NDIS claiming (we will process this for you if you are Agency Managed), or you can pay via Direct Deposit or with credit card. If paying by credit card, we will need you to complete an authorisation form. Check with your own private health cover to see if you are covered for Telehealth

Cancellation: Our normal cancellation policy applies. Private clients: 24 hours’ notice for a cancellation of a private appointment, otherwise there will be a charge of 50% of the total fee. NDIS clients: 90% if the client is an NDIS participant with less than 2 business days’ notice.
